Devin For The Win

This beautiful woman is my friend Kim and her son Devin. He was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor and is currently getting treatments at the Cleveland Clinic. A curve ball thrown in life is what we can expect because we all have a limited window of opportunity in this world to live and perhaps make a difference. I choose both and at this time. As you know, treatments are very expensive and a community has rallied to help. They have roughly over $13,000 raised on www.fundly.com/devinforthewin and raised more at a charity dinner, but it's still not at their goal of $100,000.

Everybody has a Judas in their lives and sometimes several. Some are friends, but most are unfortunately in your own damn family. I can relate to Jesus. It's hurtful as shit. Counting Friendship Blessings

I have had more than my fair share of ups and downs in the last year and I am sure there will be a few hiccups to overcome this year, but having the support and love from my kids and friends has been the most wonderful testimony because the ones that are currently by my side even in my darkest days, have shown me they were my true supporters.  We need to go through those downs at times to see that  and you better know I asked the Universe to reveal them and I was pleasantly surprised by it's answer. There were folks that came out the woodworks and have literally told me that I had inspired and gave them the determination to go after their life goals and dreams and that I was their strength when they were down. My jaw dropped to the ground and my eyes have been full of tears because although there has been a battle within my own self, God wanted me to know because of what I did for others, that those same ones would be there to be my strength and guide as well. Passion vs. Effort

I hear it all the time from people on what you need to succeed.   “Follow your passion”. Here is is why I have an issue with this advice.   Everyone is passionate about something and usually more than one thing.  We are born with it. There are always going to be things we love to do like music, art, knitting, cooking etc..  The list can go on. Those passions more than likely for most are not worth a nickel. Here's why?  Think about all the things you have been passionate about in your life. Think about all those passions that you considered making a career out of or wanted to build a company around.  How many were there? Why did you bounce from one to another?
